Coordinated Entry is the gold standard for organizing client interaction with the homeless response system.

Lake County 100-Day Challenge on Homelessness: Developing a Coordinated Entry System

Description: Connecting people experiencing homelessness to services, especially in an area as geographically large as Lake County, CA, is a difficult task when there are multiple services providers who may be working with the same client. Coordinated Entry is the gold standard for organizing client interaction with the homeless response system, as it provides a means to centralize a client’s information, document the services they are receiving, and assess and prioritize them for housing and other services. However, successfully implementing a Coordinated Entry System takes buy-in and commitment from all major agencies to work effectively. This case study discusses the challenges and benefits of the CES development and implementation process for Lake County.
